Touching the Earth: Cultivating Wisdom and Love through Insight Meditation

December 8 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Join us to practice the timeless teachings of the Buddha as a pathway to peace, freedom, and the compassionate heart.

As we deepen our capacity to pay wise and kind attention to our embodied experience, we come to know more fully what it means to awaken in the midst of our life—to be deeply connected to experience yet not bound by it.

This silent day of practice will focus on cultivating presence and awareness that embraces the moments of our lives with acceptance and wisdom. The retreat will include sitting and walking meditation with instruction, dharma reflections and short periods of group sharing. This retreat is suitable for both beginning and experienced practitioners.

This retreat is offered on the basis of dana, a practice of mutual generosity that has been alive since the time of the Buddha. At the end of the retreat there will be an opportunity to offer a donation to the teacher.

Erin Treat currently serves as a guiding teacher for Albuquerque Insight Meditation Center. She is also the guiding teacher of Vallecitos Mountain Retreat Center, and sits on the Spirit Rock Teacher Council. She serves as resident teacher and board member at the Durango Dharma Center. Her approach to sharing the dharma is influenced by her love of wild nature, her passionate commitment to serving personal and collective liberation, and her ongoing experience as a student of the Diamond Approach by A.H. Almaas.
