Working with our Internal and External Experiences: Daylong Retreat with Erin Treat

April 28 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

In the Satipatthana Sutta, otherwise known as the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, we are asked to contemplate experience of mind and body, both internally and externally. This practice points to both our awareness of what’s going on for our own hearts and minds, as well as what is happening in the world around us.

This daylong retreat will give us the opportunity to get real with and connected to our own internal experiences, as well as staying connected to the world and people around us. There will be both silent reflective time as well as relational practices. Experienced practitioners and those new to practice are welcome.

Erin Treat currently serves as a guiding teacher for Albuquerque Insight Meditation Center. She is also the guiding teacher of Vallecitos Mountain Retreat Center, and sits on the Spirit Rock Teacher Council. She serves as resident teacher and board member at the Durango Dharma Center. Her approach to sharing the dharma is influenced by her love of wild nature, her passionate commitment to serving personal and collective liberation, and her ongoing experience as a student of the Diamond Approach by A.H. Almaas.

There is no fee to participate.
The practice of Dana (generosity) lies at the heart of Buddhism, reflecting a deep understanding of interconnection and freedom from craving. A teacher offers the teachings; those who are present offer support for the teacher’s efforts, and for the sangha which provides opportunities for yogis to learn and practice. In this way, generosity strengthens relationship and reciprocity. We welcome donations at events and here on our web site. Thank you!
